Google has just released a Google Places How to Video along with Place Page Tour for Local Business Owners.
Google continues to get serious and focused on providing local business owners the tools to be successful on the Internet. With this in mind they have just released a 40-minute how to video over at their YouTube channel.
The video is a solid introduction to getting your listing at Google Places created, but you don’t have to go to YouTube as you can view it below:

In conjunction with the video Google has also put together a screen flow tour of the new Google Places page. Here you follow along as the tour explains what the new features are and how to implement them. Here is the link for Place Page Tour.
While I think these are excellent introductions to Google Places, New England Local Marketing usually spends a few days getting our clients local business listings at Google, Yahoo and Bing optimized for search. The videos don’t go into the detail of the importance of keywords in your description and categories and how to tailor them for maximum impact for your search terms.
We recently updated our free eBook How to Get Your Local Business Listed in Local Search on the Internet to include the revisions at Google Places and you can get your hands on a complimentary copy along with our free Internet Marketing for Small Business Course here.
